Tsunami Disaster Relief Program-2005
As a
result of the December 26th tsunami that destructed vast
areas in South and South-east Asia, extensive and
unprecedented level of damage and loss of life occurred
in Sri Lanka. According to the data released by the Sri
Lankan government sources and United Nations, one third
of total estimated death toll and casualties are
innocent children. As an organization comprised of
academics hailing from Sri Lanka, SLSAJ has ventured to
help, especially the needy children in the tsunami
affected areas in Sri Lanka.
It is with great appreciation and sense of gratitude we
write to acknowledge the monetary contribution from you
all to the relief fund established by the SLSAJ for the
aforementioned purpose. We greatly value your monetary
contributions as well as the sense of humane attitude
shown towards the innocent victims of tsunami disaster,
on behalf of SLSAJ and the whole Sri Lankan community.
